Wei Xiao Ping, born in 1979 in Sichuan Province, China, is a renowned Chinese chef and currently the Executive Chef of Yuelaishun™ Cuisine Restaurant in Hanoi, Vietnam. His life and career are a testament to his resilience, passion for cuisine, and unwavering determination to pursue his dreams.
Hailing from an ordinary family in Sichuan, Wei Xiao Ping’s life took an unexpected turn when he faced health challenges from a young age. At the age of 12, seeking a nurturing and disciplined environment to foster his well-being and physical strength, his grandmother made the life-changing decision to send him to the Shaolin Temple for training. Amidst the rigorous training and spiritual teachings of Shaolin, Ping’s mind often wandered towards his future aspirations.
In the 1990s, the popular television show “Yan Can Cook” hosted by Chinese American celebrity chef Martin Yan, ignited a spark within Ping and helped him discover his true calling. In 1998, Ping departed from Shaolin and embarked on a culinary journey, driven by an unwavering passion to share the flavors of his homeland with the world.
